Guide To Private Browsing on the Internet

Posted on 21:06 by Unknown
1: Google Chrome

Chrome is a very strong browser, especially known for its incognito mode feature. To configure it to start directly in incognito mode:
Right-click the shortcut you use for Google Chrome. If your shortcut is pinned to the taskbar, right-click on the pinned icon and then right-click on Google Chrome.
Click “Properties.”
Under “Target,” you’ll see a path. After that path, attach ”-incognito” to the end of it. Click “OK” when you’re finished.

That’s all you have to do! Chrome will now start up in incognito mode.

2: Mozilla Firefox

This one’s a little tricky. Firefox has a “private browsing mode,” but it’s not really so much of a mode as a temporary setting in your options. It temporarily forgets all the history in your browsing session while using the feature. The same goes for any other browser’s private browsing feature. Unlike with Chrome, you can configure Firefox to let you browse privately on startup without any workarounds. The most transparent way to set this up is through the “Privacy” section within the “Options” dialog:
Click the orange “Firefox” button on the upper left corner of the window and click “Options.”
Navigate to “Privacy.”
Select “Never remember history” under “Firefox will.”

After setting this, Firefox will always forget every website you navigate to.

3: Internet Explorer

For Internet Explorer, the configuration is very similar to Chrome’s.
Right-click on the shortcut you use to access Internet Explorer and click “Properties.”
Under “Target,” you’ll see a path. Type ”-private” after the path.
Click “OK.”
This setting is straightforward for the most part.

4. Safari

Unfortunately there is no way to keep Safari in private browsing mode after it’s turned off. Every time the app is opened, Private Safari will have to be initiated unless you set up an AppleScript.
With Safari open, pull down on the Safari menu and choose Private Browsing.
In the resulting dialog box, Click OK to confirm.
A bar with the word “Private” will appear in the address bar.
To turn off, either click the Private button in the address bar or pull down on the Safari menu again and choose Private Browsing again to turn it off.

How to read a build number of Windows

Posted on 23:31 by Unknown
Many people can not decipher the code names of new assemblies. So, let's deal! For example, let's build of Windows 8 RTM: 6.2.9200.16384.win8_rtm.120725-1247 (RTM Final, Sign-OFF).

6.2 - kernel version;

9200 - major build number;

win8_rtm - code designation and extent of product development;

120725-1247 - the date and time in the format YYMMDD-HHMM (year, month, day, hour, minute).

From this we can conclude that the final RTM-build of Windows 8 was collected July 25, 2012 at 12 hours 47 minutes.

Guide on Accessing Banned Sites

Posted on 07:45 by Unknown

1. The Onion Router (TOR)

TOR is a complex system allowing you to hide your true IP address via various online layers of anonymity, and this is why it is called Onion. As far as security is concerned, you don’t need to worry, because your data will be encrypted and re-encrypted many times, plus it will be sent via a succession of TOR relays. If you want to install and try TOR, visit https://www.torproject.org/ and download the app, which works on almost any OS – Windows, Apple and Linux/UNIX. Extract the archive and open the extracted folder to start browsing by double-clicking the “Start Tor Browser” executable. After you do so, you’ll see another window (the Vidalia Control Panel), together with an Internet browser demonstrating which IP address you’re currently using. In addition, the Vidalia Control Panel offers you a lot of features, like establishing your connection through TOR and appearance. You can also install the Torbutton for easier access.

2. Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)

In short words, VPN service is a private network which enables virtual encrypted connections that are hidden from prying eyes. It works by routing all of your Internet traffic via remote servers from all over the world. Basically, it’s a proxy service, but with more hip.

3. MAFIAAFire

MAFIAAFire is a plugin for Firefox and Google Chrome, which allows users to access portals that are either blocked or seized. Basically, it is an Internet browser redirector – in case a domain name of the website is seized, the plugin will search for similar domains and redirect you to a working one.

4. TorrentProxies

This is the easiest way of circumventing the blockage – just visit http://torrentproxies.com/ and choose any of the proxies listed there.

5. Direct IP

There are two ways to access a website: you either type in your browser’s address bar the usual address, like extratorrent.com, or the domain’s IP address. But first you have to find out which is it by either looking on the Internet for such a service, or finding it yourself by going to the Command Prompt in Windows and pinging the desired address (example: ping extratorrent.com, and you will see the number between the brackets as the website’s IP address).
